Gocek - Jewels of Gocek
Gocek Gulet Cruises, Gocek Gulets Turkey
|Day 1 :
Meet as advised with the Guletbookers representatives between 3:30-4pm on Göcek Harbour to be shown onto your gulet. While you are settling in on board, the captain will complete harbour formalities. The first dinner and overnight stay can be spent moored in Göcek Harbour so you have a chance to see Göcek by night as well.
**(According to your request , you may also spend the overnight on a closer bay ,rather than staying on the port.)
|Day 2 :
If not on the previous night, the Guletbookers representative will give a welcome briefing in the morning before the captain sets the gulet to sail at a leisurely pace into the Bay of Göcek with its famous Twelve Islands and even more coves and bays. At lunchtime you will anchor at Tersane Island (Shipyard Island) named for the remains of the Roman and Ottoman shipyards which used the bountiful pine forests for timber. After lunch you move to the beautiful Ağa Liman to enjoy dinner and overnight in the bay.
|Day 3 :
An early start by the boat moves you to Kuyruk Burnu for breakfast before finally reaching the peaceful Batık Hamam; another small bay otherwise known as Cleopatra Bay after the Egyptian Queen herself. She too must have liked cruising along this coast! It may be part of legend, but the ruins of Roman era baths can definitely be seen in the shallow waters, where you can swim. On to another picturesque bay for dinner and overnight in the renowned Bedri Rahmi Bay, where the famous artist Bedri Rahmi Eyüpoğlu painted his distinctive fish on a rock while he, his writer brother and friends pioneered the Blue Cruise over 50 years ago.
|Day 4 :
Sail back across the Gulf and around the rugged Fethiye Peninsula to Gemiler Island, where the gulet will moor for dinner and overnight. For the energetic, a climb is recommended up through the Byzantine ruins to the peak and the remains of St. Nicholas church for a sunset view of the sea and mountains. You may also have the chance to motor across to and swim in the famous Blue Lagoon of Olu Deniz, which means ‘Dead Sea’, tucked between the curved beach and the mountains.
|Day 5 :
An early start to cruise along the superbly rugged and mountainous coast brings us to one of the most inaccessible bays- the famous Butterfly Valley. It is a steep gorge with a beach, and a valley floor where travellers have often camped, and where you can wander and enjoy the natural life. Once back on board, the captain will turn the boat towards Fethiye to stop in the sheltered cove of Aquarium Bay.
|Day 6 :
A leisurely day heading back towards Fethiye, with an option of tying up in Fethiye Harbour for a stroll around town or and your night on board can be spent at peaceful Turunç Pınarı Bay.
|Day 7 :
On the way back to Göcek Bay stop at Red Island, then later at the curiously flat Yassıca Group Islands which will usually be the anchorage for swimming. For the last evening your gulet will move on to other small islands close by in the Bay.
|Day 8 :
An early motor across the bay takes the gulet back into Göcek harbour for breakfast, farewells to the crew and disembarking before 9:30am.
|***Itineraries are subject to local weather conditions and may, for the safety of the passengers and boat, be changed at short notice by the captain, whose decision in such matters is final. The passenger’s personal interests may be discussed and included in the itinerary if possible.
